FAQ

How it works

What materials are used to print your products?

The material we use most is called PLA or Polylactic Acid. It is derived from organic materials - corn starch and sugar cane - and is non-toxic. The process used to manufacture PLA uses 65% less energy than conventional plastics and 68% less greenhouse gases. PLA is recyclable and even compostable under the right conditions. In some instances, when requested, we use ABS - Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene - an industrial thermoplastic polymer that can withstand high temperature and used for its durability."

What materials do you use for laser-cutting and engraving?

We use a variety of baltic birch, maple, walnut, cherry, and acrylic. We cannot cut metal or glass. We can engrave on slate as well.

Benefits to 3d printing

What are the Benefits of 3D Printing?

3D printing has many benefits, including the ability to create complex shapes and geometries that are not possible with traditional manufacturing methods. It also allows for rapid prototyping, which can save time and money in the product development process. 3D printing is also more sustainable than traditional manufacturing methods, as it produces less waste and uses less material. Additionally, 3D printing can be used to create customized products and parts, which can be tailored to individual needs and preferences.

Product quality

How durable are your toys?

We pride ourselves on the durability of our toys, ensuring each product undergoes stringent quality control to maximize longevity. However, like all toys, durability can be influenced by how they are used. Small parts may not withstand rough handling, so we advise considering the age appropriateness of each toy. Our larger toys are designed with robust joints, reducing the likelihood of breakage under normal play conditions. Safety Notice: Small components can present a choking hazard. We recommend that our toys be used by children aged 3 and older, and our smallest toys be reserved for children aged 8 and up.

Why does my item appear different from the image shown?

There are a couple of factors that contribute to variations in the appearance of our products: 1. Filament Variability: For items printed with multi-colored filaments like the rainbow, the specific sequence and placement of colors can vary. This is because the colors are distributed randomly throughout the spool. As a result, although the same type of filament is used, the color pattern on your item may differ from what is shown on our website. 2. Natural Characteristics of Wood: Our laser-cut wood products are crafted to achieve the highest standard of quality. However, wood is a natural material which often features variations in grain and minor imperfections. These unique characteristics ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike, adding to the individuality of each item.

Safety & Care

Can your toys be used in the bath?

We do not recommend use in the bath due to the porous nature of 3D printed products. Mold can easily grow in between layer lines which can become a serious health hazard to children if ingested.

How do I care for my 3D printed toys?

To care for your 3D printed toys, we recommend using a damp cloth with mild soap to clean the surface. Do not submerge your toys in water, as this can cause damage to the toy. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can also damage the toy.

product build time

How long does it take to print a toy?

It depends. Our small fidgets and toys can print in large batches that take about 24 hours. Some of our big dragons take about 17 hours each.

What is your turnaround time for custom orders?

Each custom order is assessed on a case-by-case basis. We recommend allowing 1-2 weeks depending on the complexity of the project and the time involved. Laser cut products take a lot of finishing and design, so they may take longer. If you’re thinking of a custom order for an event such as a birthday, wedding, anniversary, etc, please reach out a few months before the date so we can work together to create something you love.
